Former Vikings potentially going to Dallas No. 6

Kris Boyd - CB

The Dallas Cowboys have a few defensive backs hitting free agency. Stephon Gilmore, Jayron Kearse, Jourdan Lewis, and Noah Igbinoghene are all set to become free agents, opening the door for some former Minnesota Vikings players to join the team.

Kris Boyd is better known for his special teams work than his contributions on defense, but he started six games in Minnesota under Mike Zimmer but has never registered a sack or interception in his five NFL seasons.

A Texas native, it wouldn't be shocking to see Boyd want to play for the Cowboys in 2024. Boyd wouldn't be a replacement for Gilmore or anything, but he could be a solid addition for depth and special teams.

Dallas will want to spend their salary cap and draft picks wisely, meaning that they won't want to invest too much in a player who won't have a starting role or be a major contributor, making Kris Boyd a possibility for Mike Zimmer and the Cowboys' defense.
