Potential returning Viking No. 1

Jerick McKinnon, running back

Something has to be done about the poor rushing attack of the Minnesota Vikings. Starting running back Alexander Mattison failed to reach the end zone on any of his 180 rushing attempts during the 2023 season.

Bringing a guy like Jerick McKinnon back to the Vikings probably wouldn't fix the problem but he would provide a dynamic option out of the backfield who has experience playing for a Super Bowl-winning franchise.

McKinnon only ran the ball 21 times for Kansas City in 2023 but scored a touchdown and added 25 catches for four additional scores. He wouldn't need a role as a starting running back to be an effective weapon.

Adding McKinnon to a mix of Alexander Mattison and Ty Chandler could help to get more production out of the running back position for the Minnesota Vikings and might be possible without spending too much of the team's remaining salary cap.
