Potential returning Viking No. 7

Ameer Abdullah, running back

The third potential running back on this list, Ameer Abdullah offers some of the same things that Cordarrelle Patterson does, just in a different package and with a little lower of a potential ceiling for the 2024 season.

Abdullah spent four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings as a running back and return specialist but most recently suited up for the Las Vegas Raiders. He didn't see much action on offense there in 2023, playing only 21 percent of offensive snaps.

Abdullah is a capable pass-catcher who works best as part of a running back committee. He would act as a great change of pace from Alexander Mattison and serve as an option outside of Mattison and Ty Chandler.

Abdullah wouldn't be a flashy signing by any means, but he's the kind of workhorse player who can get solid results when inserted into the lineup. It's kind of sad that just having a capable running back would be an upgrade for the Minnesota Vikings.
