It has only been one season since the Minnesota Vikings moved on from running back Dalvin Cook but the team's run game hasn't been the same since they decided to go a different direction with their rushing attack.

Last year, the Vikings were one of the league's least effective rushing offenses. They tied for the fewest rushing touchdowns in the league (7), were No. 29 in total rushing yards (1,553), and tied for No. 30 in rushing first downs (79).

Their struggles led to some Vikings fans being vocal about wanting Cook to return to Minnesota, but that didn't happen. He spent time with the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens last season and is currently a free agent.

Former Vikings RB Dalvin shares update about NFL future

Recently, NFL and Texans writer Aaron Wilson shared a video on his X account (formerly Twitter) which showed Dalvin Cook talking about mental health at a panel speaking in front of a Dick's Sporting Goods backdrop.

The conversation shifted to Cook training with Sports Performance Coach Justin Allen this offseason to prepare for football and trying to figure out what the future holds for the former Minnesota Vikings running back.

Cook says he's looking forward to showing the world what is coming for him. The 28-year-old playmaker said he is taking calls about the upcoming season but is making sure to focus on himself to be ready for when training camp comes.

Patience is the key. Cook will eventually land with an NFL team this season but the question is how long it will take for him to sign with a squad. While there is no rush for him to find a great fit, teams have already been working hard to ensure they have quality offensive weapons for the upcoming season.

There isn't much doubt that Cook will be ready when the opportunity comes for him. From this interview, it sounds like the former Florida State running back is working hard to be physically and mentally ready for action when his number is called.

Keep an eye out to see where Dalvin Cook lands this season. Whether it is with the Minnesota Vikings or another team, he could be a great option for a squad that is dealing with injury or depth issues and is hoping to be a contender this year. His story is far from over and he will be on a roster during the 2024 NFL season.
