It was a little surprising that the Minnesota Vikings didn't use one of their draft selections on an interior linebacker for the future. That shows that they must be comfortable with Jordan Hicks and Brian Asamoah to be the potential starters.

Other than Troy Dye and Troy Reeder, there isn't much experience past the starting inside linebackers. There are young players like Ivan Pace Jr. to be excited about but a guy like Jayon Brown may offer a bit more insurance.

Brown has started 45 of his 74 games and has 430 career combined tackles and 19 quarterback hits. He didn't see much action with the Raiders last year, only playing in eight games before a hand injury sidelined him.

If he is healthy, Brown could be a good player to bring in for competition to push the young players on the roster. Last year, his contract with the Raiders was for $1.25M but he may be hungry to prove the 28 year old is ready to see if he can return to his 2018 form.
