Possible Vikings free agent target No. 5: Ray-Ray McCloud

2023 Team: San Francisco 49ers ($1.955 M cap hit)

Playing with four teams in your first six seasons isn't a great sign, but that means there has always been at least a small amount of interest in Ray-Ray McCloud and it's not surprising to see why after looking at what he can do.

Although he is only five-foot-nine and 190 pounds, McCloud has made a mark for himself on special teams. He may never have surpassed 400 receiving yards in a season, but he led the league in 2021 by having 38 punt returns for 367 yards.

Last season, Brandon Powell handled punt returns for the Vikings. With him becoming a free agent, the job is opening up. McCloud could be a solid option to take over that duty for at least the 2024 NFL season.

McCloud might cost a little bit more than some of the other receivers on this list, his contributions to special teams makes that investment worth it. It is something the Minnesota Vikings should consider this offseason.
