Possible Vikings free agent target No. 6: Gunner Olszewski

2023 Team: New York Giants ($0.6M cap hit)

A wide receiver and return specialist, Gunner Olszewski could be familiar to some Minnesota Vikings fans. He played college football at Bemidji State University in Minnesota and was undrafted. Yet, he was invited to training camp in 2019 by the New England Patriots.

Since then, he has played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants, but hasn't had any real impact on offense. In fact, he's only had 20 passing targets in five seasons, but he's caught 15 of those for 180 yards and a touchdown.

Olszewski would likely be a free agent signing that would place priority on his skills in the return game. He has averaged 11.9 yards per punt return and 22 yards per punt return and Minnesota could use that help.

The Minnesota Vikings may not see Gunner Olszewski as a major option as a third wide receiver, but if he can make the roster based on his special teams ability, he may be able to carve out a role for himself in the offense.
