Vikings free agent target No. 3

Anthony Walker, ILB - Cleveland Browns

Jordan Hicks is dealing with a health issue and will be a free agent after this season. That might leave Ivan Pace Jr. and Troy Dye to be the starting interior linebackers for the Minnesota Vikings next season. While that wouldn't be awful, some more depth and competition would be welcome.

It would be nice to see the Vikings kick the tires on a player like Anthony Walker. At 28 years old, Walker has 74 starts in his seven NFL seasons. He also has had four seasons with 90 or more combined tackles in his career.

2023 sees Walker playing on a contract with a salary cap hit of just over $1.2 million. For a player who could start in a pinch, this would be a signing with great value to a team looking for a fringe starter who is still young enough to grow with an evolving franchise.

Hopefully, Brian Flores can stick around as the defensive coordinator for Minnesota and fans can see more of what his vision for the Vikings' defense is. Walker is a player who could fit in a Flores defense in multiple ways and not hurt any attempt to re-sign current talent.
