5 free agents the Vikings should already be thinking about for 2024

Vikings free agent target No. 5
Gardner Minshew, QB - Indianapolis Colts
Kirk Cousins and Josh Dobbs are set to become a free agent and there is a potential out on Nick Mullens' deal. There is a chance that the Minnesota Vikings draft their quarterback of the future and look for a veteran for him to learn behind for a short time.
Ideally, the Vikings could bring back Josh Dobbs if he finishes the season strong. He could hold down the starting job until the rookie is ready for action. But if Dobbs isn't that player, finding another quarterback for that role might be a priority.
A guy like Gardner Minshew would be a lot of fun and is assuming this exact role in Indianapolis. He just seems like a good locker room guy and someone who can help a team stay competitive while changing the direction of the franchise.
Spotrac estimates that Minshew could command a contract worth about $3.5 million in 2024, which would be a small price to pay for a quarterback to help a rookie while doing anything else asked of him, making this a great potential signing.
