Potential Vikings Super Bowl free agent No. 5

Clelin Ferrell, EDGE - 49ers

While everyone is talking about what the future will hold at the quarterback position for the Minnesota Vikings, it feels like not enough attention is being given to the need for quality pass rushers.

Danielle Hunter is bound to get a huge payday with another team and Marcus Davenport is unlikely to return in 2024. Add to those losses that Minnesota has D.J. Wonnum set to hit free agency, and you have a defense that needs to add talent.

Clelin Ferrell might be known as an underwhelming first-round draft pick of the Raiders in 2019 but has moved into a starting role for the 49ers and had 3.5 sacks this season. That's not going to knock anyone's socks off, but it would get a capable, young body in the locker room who has experience.

Don't be shocked if the Minnesota Vikings add multiple edge rushers this offseason to get competition on the roster. It wouldn't be too outlandish if one of those individuals was a former first-round pick hungry to make a big impact.
