Greatest Minnesota Vikings pass-catching trios from every decade

1970s:

  • Ahmad Rashad
  • Sammy White
  • Chuck Foreman

Years spent together:

  • 1976-1979

Best year together:

  • 1978

Chuck Foreman was selected with the 12th overall pick in the 1973 draft by Minnesota and promptly won the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year after compiling over 1,000 rushing and receiving yards. Two seasons later, Foreman led the NFL with 73 receptions despite the fact that he was a running back.

Then, in 1976, Ahmad Rashad came to Minnesota from Buffalo after missing the 1975 season due to injury. Sammy White joined Rashad in 1976 as a second-round draft pick from Grambling.

The trio were pass catching dynamos for Minnesota for four years and their best year was arguably 1978. That season, they combined for 180 receptions, with Rashad catching 66 passes, White snagging 53 receptions, and Foreman grabbing 61 of his own.

Minnesota took their pass happy offense to the Divisional round where they were soundly defeated by the Rams, 34-10.

Foreman signed with New England before the 1980 season and Rashad and White were Vikings together through the 1982 season.
