Historically, the Houston Texans haven't had a very good time when facing the Minnesota Vikings. The two teams have only met five times, but the purple and gold won each of those games by at least a touchdown.

The most recent meeting between the Texans and the Vikings came in 2020 when Dalvin Cook ran for 130 yards and two touchdowns against a Houston squad that converted only three of their 12 third-down tries.

The story could be very different on Sunday when Sam Darnold and company take on a dynamic, young roster that includes the Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year winners from last season and a bunch of other talented players.

However, not every team will have their entire roster available for the game on Sunday. It is only Week 3, but injuries play a big part in how the season unfolds. One individual who missed last week's game is Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison.

Is Jordan Addison playing today vs. Texans?

The final injury report for the Minnesota Vikings and Houston Texans has some bad news for fans of the purple and gold. Three members of Minnesota's team are ruled out for Sunday while Houston only has running back Dameon Pierce out with a hamstring injury.

Who is ruled out for the Vikings in Week 3?

Wide receiver Jordan Addison will miss his second straight game while dealing with an ankle injury. The former USC pass catcher did not practice all week for the Vikings and will not be available on Sunday.

Rookie edge rusher Dallas Turner will also sit out against the Texans. Turner is dealing with a knee ailment and although he isn't a starter for the Vikings, Minnesota's rookie standout took part in 79 snaps in two games before his injury.

A big loss for the Vikings defense, interior linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. is dealing with a quad/ankle injury that limited him at practice on Wednesday and Thursday and sit out on Friday. Pace is off to a great start this season, earning 15 combined tackles in Minnesota's first two games but will not suit up against Houston.

The Minnesota Vikings may have a great history when it comes to playing the Houston Texans but the game on Sunday should be a hard-fought contest between two teams with a lot to prove to themselves this season. Don't miss the action in Week 3!
