The Minnesota Vikings are scheduled to host the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season. This game should be another great test for the purple and gold as they attempt to defend their home field at U.S. Bank Stadium.
The Vikings will want to have as many healthy contributors on hand as possible for the game on Sunday. Last week, the 49ers knocked off Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets despite not having star running back Christian McCaffrey available, proving they are a formidable team even if they aren't at full strength.

Which players have been ruled out for Sunday's game between the Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers? And which other players are in danger of missing the Week 2 matchup according to the official website of the Vikings?
Minnesota Vikings
-OUT-
Jordan Addison, wide receiver - ankle
-QUESTIONABLE-
Ed Ingram, guard, tricep
Brian O'Neill, tackle- elbow
Harrison Smith, safety - hip
Not having Jordan Addison available for Week 2 against the 49ers is a pretty significant loss for the Vikings. Last week against the New York Giants in Week 1, he caught three passes on four targets for 35 yards. Minnesota will need to have other pass-catchers step up in his absence, which could mean a big day for superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson.
Hopefully, the three players who are questionable for Week 2 will be good to go. Losing starters Ed Ingram and Brian O'Neill would not be great against a stout San Francisco defense. Plus, veteran defensive back Harrison Smith is an important part of the Vikings' secondary as they hope to contain a 49ers offense containing several explosive playmakers.
San Francisco 49ers
-OUT-
Christian McCaffrey, running back - calf/ankle
-DOUBTFUL-
Talanoa Hufanga, safety - knee
-QUESTIONABLE-
Dee Winters, linebacker - ankle
Last season's Offensive Player of the Year Christian McCaffrey has not suited up for the 2024 NFL season yet and it was reported by NFL Insider Adam Schefter that the star running back will be placed on injured reserve.
Jordan Mason took McCaffrey's place in Week 1 and made the most of his opportunity during the 32-19 win. Mason ran the ball 28 times on Monday night, gaining 147 yards and scoring a touchdown. He will be a player to watch on Sunday.
