Following his team's loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson was asked about the franchise's possible quarterback plans for 2024.

After a 2022 season in which he won the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year award, the 2023 campaign was much less enjoyable for Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

Jefferson and the Vikings saw their season come to an end on Sunday, as they were eliminated from earning a spot in the playoffs following a 30-20 loss to the Detroit Lions.

Following the game, the Minnesota receiver shared how disappointing the 2023 campaign was for both the team and himself. But Jefferson also commented on something that is going to be a very hot topic among Vikings fans for the next few months.

Justin Jefferson says Minnesota Vikings QB decision is not his "question to answer"

While meeting with some of the local Twin Cities media after Sunday's loss to the Lions, Jefferson was asked what he wanted Minnesota to do at the quarterback position during the upcoming offseason.

Here's how the Vikings All-Pro wide receiver responded to that question.

"It's not really my question to answer. It's up to the management. It's up to the guys up in that front office.

I'm always going to continue to be myself and play the way I play, so whatever it is, whoever it is next year, I'm always going to continue to ball out."

During Jefferson's entire NFL career, Minnesota's Week 1 starting quarterback has always been Kirk Cousins.

But Cousins is not only set to become a free agent in March, but he's also coming off of a torn Achilles that ended his 12th season in the league in Week 8. So, no one really knows if the Vikings are going to bring him back for the 2024 campaign.

Due to their struggles in 2023, Minnesota is going to have a selection in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft that should allow them to trade up fairly easily if there's a quarterback prospect they want to grab.

It's still very, very early in the process, but it sounds like Jefferson isn't going to go about his offseason any differently based on what the Vikings do at the quarterback position during the next few months.

Personally, the Minnesota wide receiver is heading into an offseason where he will likely end up signing one of the richest non-quarterback contract extensions in the entire NFL.

Jefferson isn't going to look back on the 2023 season fondly, but there doesn't seem to be any indication yet that he's looking to part with the Vikings in the near future, and his feelings won't be affected by the team choosing to re-sign Cousins or not.
