Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson recently shared his top-five NFL quarterbacks list, and it didn't include Kirk Cousins.
During the last three seasons, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson and quarterback Kirk Cousins have developed a dynamite connection on the field. In 2022, their efforts helped the Vikings finish the season with the sixth-best passing offense in the NFL.
So how does Jefferson view Cousins in comparison to some of the other quarterbacks around the league? Well, Minnesota's superstar receiver recently shared who he believes are the top five quarterbacks in the NFL right now, and his list didn't include his own team's starting signal-caller.
Did Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson just cause some unnecessary beef between himself and Kirk Cousins?
Just to recap the short clip from above, Jefferson currently has Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs as his top quarterback in the NFL, followed by Aaron Rodgers, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, and Josh Allen.
First off, he's not wrong. Some might argue about the order, but the five guys he picked are generally who most believe are the top quarterbacks in the league heading into the 2023 season.
Second, Jefferson has already stated numerous times in the past that he loves having Cousins as his quarterback. So it's not like the receiver had any sort of malicious intent toward the Vikings' current starting quarterback when he shared these thoughts.
So are we about to see Jefferson and Cousins get into a shouting match over this list inside Minnesota's locker room when the two of them report for training camp later this month? While that would certainly be interesting, it's also highly unlikely to happen.
However, don't be surprised if other media outlets or reporters use this list from Jefferson to attempt to paint a picture that there is some sort of divide between the wide receiver and the quarterback.
But judging from any past comments that have come from the actual mouths of Jefferson and Cousins, there is currently no reason to believe that there is any sort of rift between these two Vikings teammates.
