Vikings player No. 4
Carl Eller, defensive end (209 games played)
The Minnesota Vikings were fortunate to be able to have Carl Eller on their team. Even though they used the sixth overall pick on him during the 1964 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills took him fifth overall in the 1964 AFL Draft.
Thank goodness Eller was able to come to Minnesota because the foemer University of Minnesota standout put together a Hall of Fame career as part of the team's legendary Purple People Eaters defense.
Eller still sits at the top of the all-time list of sack leaders for the Vikings with 130.5. It could be a long time before that record is broken by any member of the purple and gold. His seven All-Pro nods and six Pro Bowl appearances are well-earned.
A major contributor of the 1969 NFL Championship team, the man nicknamed "Moose" is a member of the Minnesota Vikings Ring of Honor as well as the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
