Matchup No.2
Non-Addison/Hockenson receivers vs. the Saints secondary
Rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison is tasked with going up against a stellar cornerback in Marshon Lattimore, meanwhile, T.J. Hockenson is up against one of the best linebackers in the NFL in Demario Davis.
With Hockenson also being banged up due to his rib injury, the receiving core outside of the Vikings' main two guys will really need to step up and help quarterback Josh Dobbs this week in his first start for Minnesota. The Saints' secondary is no joke, so it'll be interesting to see how it works out.
The likes of Brandon Powell, Trishton Jackson, N'Keal Harry, and Jalen Nailor will need to step up for Minnesota if they hope to get the ball moving steadily through the air. It's a very inexperienced group, as there are journeymen and newer players in that mixed bag of receivers, but they'll need to play like seasoned veterans.
Alexander Mattison and Ty Chandler will need to do their part in the passing game, too, as this will truly be an all-hands-on-deck situation for Minnesota. If the Vikings' rag-tag group of receiving options can help make some noise, Minnesota can will their way to a victory against a stout Saints defense.
