First-Round Pick

Drake Maye - QB (North Carolina)

Drake Maye had some lumps early this season, but he has since turned it on and been the QB2 that many expected him to be. He is starting to separate himself from the rest of the class to be the first quarterback taken after Caleb Williams.

If the Vikings are anywhere near the top of the draft, I'd have to imagine they would be aggressive in trying to go up and get their quarterback. They were linked to a possible trade-up during this past draft for a quarterback despite picking much later in the round.

If they are within range, they will go get Drake Maye - or they may just be able to sit tight and draft him with their original selection.

Maye is one of the best pure passers you will see coming out of the college ranks, but he is also a tremendous athlete with speed and running ability that can add an extra dimension to the offense. North Carolina has taken strides over the past few weeks, and Maye is really starting to shine once again.

If Maye was in Minnesota with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, Minnesota would be able to stretch the field and push the ball downfield without the constant fear of quick sacks. His ability to extend plays is something that Kirk Cousins lacks and has been the main issue with his time in Minnesota.

Now that the Vikings have their quarterback, what do they need to do in order to get the roster back into a competitive state?
