Second-Round Pick (42nd overall)

T'Vondre Sweat - DT (Texas)

While Minnesota's defense made some strides this season, there is still a lot of work to be done on that side of the ball.

The Vikings need to beef up the trenches and eliminate the run, which is why T'Vondre Sweat is the ideal player in this spot.

Adding a player of Sweat's caliber to the interior defensive line will immediately improve the run defense and add some interior pass rush as well.

With a lack of consistency rushing the passer, Minnesota needs to be aggressive and find players that can take some pressure off the secondary.

This board fell in a way that presented Sweat as the clear candidate for the Vikings.

The young man is listed at 6-foot-4 and 362 pounds, and he moves very well laterally at the point of attack to avoid blockers.

Sweat is athletic, powerful, and agile in the middle of the trenches. That is what Minnesota needs heading into the 2024 season.
