Vikings Cornerbacks (7)

  • Byron Murphy Jr.
  • Andrew Booth Jr.
  • Mekhi Blackmon
  • Akayleb Evans
  • Jay Ward
  • JoeJuan Williams
  • Tay Gowan

Cornerback is another spot where there will be two new starters. Byron Murphy Jr. is a signing that should help the Minnesota Vikings not to have too much of a learning curve, as with the signing of former Patriots defensive back JoeJuan Williams.

Andrew Booth Jr. spent a lot of time injured last season and only played in six games and Akayleb Evans played in ten games. Each of them started at least one game last year and getting them experience should be a proirity.

Meanwhile, Mekhi Blackmon and Jay Ward were both draft picks this year and it's hard to know what will be expected of them this upcoming season. Hopefully, at leat one of them will shine and be a solid contributor this season.

Tay Gowan only has two tackles in five games played on his stat line, but he can be a special teamer and emergency backup unless Minnesota wants to go with a younger player with whom they see more potential.
