Vikings 53-man roster projection

Cornerbacks (6)

  • Byron Murphy Jr.
  • Akayleb Evans
  • Mekhi Blackmon
  • JoeJuan Williams
  • Andrew Booth Jr.
  • Jay Ward

One of the biggest question marks on the roster for the Minnesota Vikings this season is the cornerback group. Several of last season's major contributors are gone but considering the struggles in that unit, that might be a good thing.

Byron Murphy Jr. should find his role pretty easily while Akayleb Evans is tightening his grasp on one of the starting roles with every passing practice. The youth and athleticism could be refreshing when they go against some of the most dynamic pass catchers in the league this season.

Size and experience and big benefits for JoeJuan Williams, especially to match up against some of the bigger opponents the team faces. Rookie Mekhi Blackmon has been sharp in practice and is a player to keep an eye on.

Rookie Jay Ward is a hybrid corner/safety that might be hard to keep off the field with his athleticism. On the other hand, keeping Andrew Booth Jr. healthy and on the field could be a massive challenge as well.
