Vikings 53-man roster predictions following 2023 NFL Draft
By Adam Patrick
Defensive Line (6)
- Harrison Phillips
- Dean Lowry
- Khyiris Tonga
- Esezi Otomewo
- Jaquelin Roy (R)
- Calvin Avery (R)
When it comes to their defensive line, Minnesota has a bunch of solid players, but none of them are likely going to be viewed among the best at their positions in 2023. It's definitely a group that the Vikings should consider adding a veteran free agent to before the start of training camp this summer.
With that being said, it will be interesting to see how Dean Lowry performs in 2023. Lowry was a solid starter with the Green Bay Packers for the last few years, but his performance dropped off a bit last season. Will a change of scenery get him back to making life miserable for opposing offensive linemen?
Signed as an undrafted free agent this past Saturday, former Illinois defensive tackle Calvin Avery is someone to keep an eye on. At 6-foot-1 and 343 pounds, Avery is a massive human who can take up a bunch of space in the middle of Minnesota's defensive line. Don't be surprised if he finds his way onto the Vikings' final roster this year.
