Vikings 53-man roster predictions heading into 2023 training camp
Tight Ends (3)
- T.J. Hockenson
- Josh Oliver
- Johnny Mundt
T.J. Hockenson should be extended by the time the Vikings kick off against Tampa Bay in Week 1. Hockenson is a legitimate top-five tight end in the league and will play a key part in the 2023 Minnesota Vikings season.
Josh Oliver, at first glance, was a head-scratcher of a move in free agency. That was until you started hearing rumors of a shift to a 12-personnel offense that utilizes two tight ends the majority of the time. Oliver was the best blocking tight end in the entire league last season and has sneaky good hands as well. There are high expectations for Oliver in 2023.
The battle between Johnny Mundt and Nick Muse is not something most Vikings fans will bat an eye to, but it is a battle, nonetheless. Mundt's experience, once again, lands him a spot on the final 53-man roster. Muse could revert back to the practice squad, where he has spent the majority of his career to this point.
