Sixth Round (Pick No. 211)
Evan Hull - RB (Northwestern)
Since the Vikings decided to trade away Dalvin Cook in this mock draft, Minnesota using at least one of their selections on a running back would probably be wise.
Following Cook's eventual exit, Alexander Mattison is in line to open up the 2023 season as the Vikings' No. 1 running back. But after Mattison, it's anyone's guess as to how the rest of the depth chart will look.
Most would assume that Ty Chandler will end up as Minnesota's No. 2 running back for the 2023 campaign, but that's not a given. And do the Vikings plan to utilize Kene Nwangwu at all in their offense next season?
Evan Hull would be an interesting option for Minnesota to add to the running back competition this summer. Especially since Hull has a skill that could help Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell achieve his desired illusion of complexity for the team's offense.
Hull averaged 4.2 yards per carry at Northwestern in 2022, however, he also averaged almost 10 yards per reception. He caught 54 passes last season and his talent as a receiver out of the backfield is something that could get him some significant snaps as a rookie with Minnesota in 2023.
