Round 6, Pick 211 (Compensatory)

CB Jaylon Jones - Texas A&M

Don't be shocked if the Minnesota Vikings double-dip at cornerback despite needing help at other spots like safety, guard, and defensive tackle. Bringing in young talent to develop in the secondary should be a top priority.

The Minnesota Vikings are attempting to prepare for the future by shedding the massive contracts of veteran players who are no longer matching their compensation with quality off play, meaning young players could get some new opportunities.

A 6-foot-2 corner at 200 pounds, Texas A&M corner Jaylon Jones has the size and experience wanted for a defender but needs to play more disciplined and fundamentally at times, making him a bit of a project worth a selection on Day 3.

Jones could be used as a corner or safety and would immediately be an asset on special teams while he hones his craft. If Jaylon Jones puts the work in, he could be a steal at this point of the 2023 NFL Draft.
