Vikings announce cancellation of Monday night’s training camp practice

Training camp is a fun opportunity for Minnesota Vikings fans to see their favorite team in person before the preseason starts. People from all around will gather to catch an early glimpse of the purple and gold.

The Vikings offer ticketed training camp entry for fans for several of the team's sessions. One of the most popular is the night session, which typically includes a family-friendly environment with a fun scrimmage.

Minnesota's Night practice was scheduled to happen on Monday, Aug. 5 this year, but the team recently announced that they would be unable to host the event due to circumstances beyond their control.

Weather is not expected to cooperate with the Vikings' training camp schedule. A forecast including a 90 percent chance of rain and possible thunder will prevent the purple and gold from taking the practice field on Monday night.

The team's official website shared that Monday's night practice is canceled and is rescheduled for one week later on Monday, Aug. 12. Those who purchased tickets for the practice will receive a refund and tickets for the new night practice date will be on sale Aug. 5 at 10 am.

In addition to the canceled night practice, the Vikings Locker Room Store, the Vikings Museum, as well as all fan activations will be closed on Monday night due to the expected inclement weather that night.

Monday's night practice on Aug. 5 was also expected to have every Minnesota Vikings position group toss autographed footballs into the stands for fans watching the practice from Land O' Lakes, Inc. Practice Fields at TCO Stadium. That is expected to happen on the rescheduled date.

This practice will be a great opportunity to see your favorite players take the field following Minnesota's first preseason game on Saturday against the Las Vegas Raiders at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. That preseason game will be televised on NFL Network at 3:00 pm.
