8. Rich Gannon

Rich Gannon had a hilarious start to his career when he was drafted in the fourth round by the Patriots back in 1987. New England wanted to convert him from quarterback to one of a few other positions, and Gannon didn't like that. He was then dealt to Minnesota, where he would play until 1992.

Mostly a backup, Gannon wouldn't start a game until the 1990 campaign when he went 5-7 as a starter. He would then go on to start the majority of the following two seasons before heading to Washington. In Minnesota, though, Gannon threw for over 6,400 yards, 40 touchdowns and 34 interceptions.

7. Wade Wilson

Back in the 1981 NFL Draft, the Vikings selected Wade Wilson out of Texas A&M Commerce. He would go on to play a lengthy 11 seasons for Minnesota, spending most of his time as a backup. It wasn't until 1987 when Wilson received an opportunity to start several games, going 5-2 that season. In 1988, Wilson enjoyed his best season as a pro, going 7-3 and throwing for 2,746 yards, 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

In 1990, an injury forced Rich Gannon into action and then in 1991, Wilson ended up losing his job to Gannon after five games. Ultimately, Wilson left Minnesota after that year, but as mostly a backup quarterback, he still sits fifth all-time in team history with over 12,000 passing yards.
