As a native of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, new Minnesota Vikings linebacker Blake Cashman is fully aware of the intense rivalry between his current team and the Green Bay Packers.

During a recent appearance on the "Green Light with Chris Long" podcast, Cashman talked about how he's looking forward to hitting the grass inside Lambeau Field as a member of the Vikings to take on the Packers.

"[Lambeau Field is] so historic. It's almost like a college football town. So, they're crazy about their team, and I'm excited to go there and dominate Green Bay."

In addition to the friendly trash talk that he delivered, Cashman also revealed during the podcast appearance that, despite growing up in Minnesota, he was actually a big fan of the Packers. The new Vikings linebacker even shared a story about punching a wall and breaking his hand one time following a Green Bay loss in an NFC Championship.

Minnesota will be hoping Cashman brings that type of intensity to the field when he suits up for them during the upcoming 2024 season. He's coming off a breakout performance in 2023 when he set career-highs for tackles, tackles for a loss, pressures, pass breakups, and interceptions as a member of the Houston Texans.

Next season, Cashman is expected to take over Jordan Hicks's spot in the Vikings defense next to Ivan Pace Jr. as the team's other starting inside linebacker. If things go well in 2024, Pace and Cashman have the potential to emerge as one of the top young linebacker duos in the entire NFL.

Not that Minnesota fans will need any additional reasons to root for the hometown defender, but if he can truly help the Vikings "dominate" the Packers when the two division rivals play in Green Bay next season, then the purple and gold fan base is going to love him even more.
