Vikings Draft 2024: Braelon Allen and 4 other prospects who shined in Week 4
By Luke Parrish
Prospect No. 2
Keon Coleman - WR (Florida State)
The Vikings are probably not going to add another wide receiver in the first round, but what Keon Coleman is doing at Florida State deserves to be talked about. After transferring from Michigan State, Coleman has become a serious threat to challenge Marvin Harrison Jr. as the top wide receiver in the draft.
The Seminoles went on the road to Clemson in a hostile environment on Saturday and escaped with a thrilling win. Keon Coleman hauled in five grabs for 86 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning score in overtime.
His overtime touchdown was a highlight reel, one-handed catch through contact, and it was another glimpse at the type of player that Coleman can become.
He is the prototypical size, speed, and hands combo that the NFL is going to fall in love with, and the Vikings would be foolish to eliminate him from their boards because of positional needs. There could be a scenario where the Vikings wait on a quarterback and wait for the right opportunity to get their next signal-caller.
Well, what if that next guy steps into a situation with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and Keon Coleman on the outside to throw to? The Bengals did a similar thing with Joe Burrow, and it worked out well for them.
