With the college season at the midway point, how do some potential Minnesota Vikings draft prospects stack up among the rest of the draft class?

Kris Abrams-Draine - CB (Missouri)

One of my biggest risers in this draft class is Missouri's Kris Abrams-Draine. The standout cornerback has taken a massive leap in 2023 and has emerged as a possible first-round pick and is working his way toward the top of the defensive back board.

According to PFF, Abrams-Draine has allowed quarterbacks to complete just 38% of their attempts targeting him in coverage, and he has recorded four interceptions and eight PBUs so far this season. Opposing quarterbacks have a 31.3 passer rating allowed, which results in a coverage grade of 85.9 for Abrams-Draine in the SEC.

Missouri has already played LSU and South Carolina, both of which have NFL quarterbacks and wide receivers on their roster. Their next test will be Georgia on November 4, with Tennessee and Florida to follow.

Kris Abrams-Draine has been tested this season, and he will continue to face some tough opponents down the stretch. He has a chance to surge into the top of the first round with excellent ball skills and superb athleticism on the perimeter.

It would be hard to sell the Vikings on a first-round cornerback given the state of the roster, but Kris Abrams-Draine would certainly be worth a look.
