Sixth-Round Pick (No. 179)

Jaylan Ford – LB (Texas)

The Vikings found one gem in Ivan Pace Jr. as an undrafted free agent, but they’ll need to find a tag team partner in the middle. Jaylan Ford could be an answer here as a player who does well against the run, but his 12.7 percent missed tackle rate and his issues in coverage could be something that gives the Vikings second thoughts.

With Jordan Hicks hitting free agency and Brian Asamoah unable to get on the field, the Vikings could be looking for a linebacker late. Ford is one option, but they could add another as they look to add more talent and speed to their defense.

Seventh-Round Pick (No. 227)

Evan Anderson – DT (Florida Atlantic)

Remember when we said the Vikings needed to add some size along the defensive line? A 6-foot-3, 356-pound nose tackle might do the trick.

Evan Anderson was a monster against the run, posting an 8.2 percent run-stop rate with the Owls last season. While Anderson was able to post an average 7.1 percent pass rush win rate, he has the size to be an impact player.

Creating mismatches in the trenches should be on the mind of the Vikings, and Anderson has the ability to bring value to this pick.
