Fifth-Round Pick No. 1 (155th overall)
Marist Liufau, Linebacker (Notre Dame)
The Minnesota Vikings seem to have hit the jackpot when they signed undrafted free agent Ivan Pace Jr. last offseason. If they can't bring Jordan Hicks back, they will want to add a new linebacker to the group.
Notre Dame linebacker Marist Liufau is about the same size as Hicks. A four-year player, there is some question about what position he will play in the NFL. He played cornerback in high school but converted to linebacker in college, so he could be a versatile player.
After missing his 2021 season due to injury, Liufau came into his own as an outside linebacker. As a senior, the Hawaiian native recorded a career-high six tackles for a loss and three sacks in 12 games played.
Marist Liufau might be a bit of a project player, but he is also an individual who could find a unique role under Brian Flores and thrive in an aggressive scheme thanks to his athleticism and determination to succeed.
