If you ever want to start a debate among Minnesota Vikings fans, just bringing up the name of Kirk Cousins would be a fantasic start. The polarizing quarterback has been very good for the team since his arrival but some key factors could make 2023 his last hurrah.
Cousins will turn 35 years old this year and is entering the final year of his contract with the Vikings. The current prices on the quarterback market are insanely high and Minnesota will need to start looking toward the future of the position.
There is still a chance that an extension could be worked out to keep Kirk Cousins in Minnesota but it seems like the front office wants to explore every option available to them when it comes to their quarterback of the future.
Minnesota opted against using a top draft pick on a quarterback in this year's draft but may be willing to invest in the position next year when they will have more draft capital to move around the board a little more.
