Vikings player probably not returning No. 5

Harrison Smith, safety

Of all the players on this list Harrison Smith is one of the most unique. It would be great for the veteran safety to return for season number 13 but he's set to have a salary cap hit of over $19.2 million and will be 35 years old.

Camryn Bynum has already secured one starting spot at safety and the Minnesota Vikings have invested heavily in the position by taking Lewis Cine in the first round, spending a fourth-round pick on Jay Ward, giving Theo Jackson playing time this season, and getting Josh Metellus a contract extension.

Fans likely have a soft spot for Smith since he's been with the team since 2012 and has consistently been a solid player, but it might be time for him to consider calling it a career and enjoy time with his family and continue working with charities.

Some of these decisions will be harder than others for the front office. Which other Minnesota Vikings players on the 53-man roster do you think won't be back next season? And which of those players will the team miss the most?
