Based on the final Week 3 injury report the team released on Friday, we already know about half of the players who will be among the Minnesota Vikings inactives for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Houston Texans.
Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison is out for the second week in a row, as he's still dealing with the ankle injury he suffered in the middle of the team's Week 1 win over the New York Giants.
Minnesota will also be without rookie edge rusher Dallas Turner, who suffered a knee injury in the team's victory over the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday, and inside linebacker Ivan Pace Jr., who began the week on the injury report with an injured quad and then hurt his ankle during the Vikings' practice on Thursday as well.
Minnesota Vikings inactives for Week 3 vs. the Houston Texans
While Minnesota won't have several notable players for Sunday's game, the Texans will also be attempting to get a win without some of their top contributors this weekend.
On Friday, Houston running back Dameon Pierce was ruled out for this week's matchup due to a hamstring injury, and then on Saturday, the team downgraded running back Joe Mixon from doubtful to out because of an ankle injury.
So, without Mixon or Pierce available, former Vikings running back Cam Akers is expected to start in the backfield for the Texans on Sunday. Akers appeared in six games with Minnesota in 2023 before his season was cut short when he tore his Achilles in the team's Week 9 win over the Atlanta Falcons.
