Near the end of the second quarter of their Week 1 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings and quarterback Kirk Cousins appeared to be on their way to putting more points on the board before the half. But then Cousins tossed a pass towards Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn that wound up getting picked off by Bucs defensive back Christian Izien.

Following the interception, the television broadcast caught Cousins on the sideline screaming at one Minnesota's assistant coaches.

The Vikings quarterback was clearly very frustrated after the interception, and it appears that Minnesota quarterbacks coach Chris O'Hara is the one who got the earful from Cousins.

On the interception itself, the throw was tossed a bit behind the intended target, Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn. However, it appeared that Osborn got his hands on it, and then it was ripped away from him by Izien.

After the game, Cousins stated that the play was a result of him being "too aggressive," according to ESPN's Kevin Seifert.

So, does Osborn or Cousins deserve more blame than the other for the interception? Probably not, but we can also say that Izien just made a really good play.

Either way, Cousins was incredibly frustrated with the result of his throw to Osborn. It's one he obviously wishes he had back, but luckily for the quarterback and Minnesota, that was just the team's first game of the season.

There is still plenty of time for the Vikings and Cousins to fix things so that they can get back on track to accomplishing their goals for the 2023 campaign.
