If you were a fan of the Minnesota Vikings in the 1970s, odds are that you enjoyed watching running back Chuck Foreman work his magic. Known for his wicked spin move and excellent hands as a receiver, was a dynamic and exciting player who gained over a thousand yards from scrimmage n each of his first six seasons in the NFL.

Foreman, the No. 12 overall pick in the 1973 NFL Draft, immediately impacted the Vikings. As a rookie, he gained 801 rushing yards and 382 receiving yards, adding six touchdowns in 12 games played. That effort was good enough to earn him NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors and a Pro Bowl nod.

Despite only playing eight seasons in the NFL, Foreman led the league in receptions in 1975, and was named to five Pro Bowls, one All-Pro First Team, and three All-Pro Second Teams. Seven of those seasons were spent in Minnesota with his final stop being one year with the New England Patriots.

Vikings legend Chuck Foreman gets honest about not being in the Hall of Fame

There are many great Minnesota Vikings players in the Pro Football Hall of Fame but Chuck Foreman was never a finalist for Canton during his 25 years of eligibility and has not been in the last 14 years finalist since becoming a senior candidate.

His impact on the NFL is undeniable but it hasn't resulted in any love from the Pro Football Hall of Fame committee. Recently Foreman opened up about his situation and spoke candidly about why he hasn't been enshrined during a conversation on Unscripted with Dawn Mitchell on FOX 9.

""Some of those people I played against who are in there that don't have nearly the accomplishments we had when I was here with the Vikings. And I'm gonna leave it at that.""

"The Spin Doctor" is enshrined in the Vikings' Ring of Honor and has fully embraced his legacy in Minnesota. Although he was never the same after a brutal knee injury in 1978, Foreman is a regular at autograph signings and seems to enjoy meeting his fans.

Being a senior candidate will make Chuck Foreman's possible road to the Pro Football Hall of Fame even more difficult. Although this seems to be a sore topic for the legendary Vikings running back, there is still hope the committee will realize his impact on the Minnesota Vikings and the NFL in general.
