Vikings takeaway No. 5

There are still players to be excited about.

A quiet first quarter made fans wonder if Justin Jefferson was going to be able to get going against the Chargers. Jefferson did end up making a big impact on the game with seven catches for 149 yards and a touchdown.

Through the first three weeks, Justin Jefferson leads the league in receiving yards with 458. KIrk Cousins leads all quarterbacks in passing yards with 1,075. And Danielle Hunter is second in sacks with five, trailing only Steelers defender T.J. Watt.

Add in rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison and tight end T.J. Hockenson, and you have an exciting group of players to keep an eye on each week the Vikings play...even if they continue to struggle to win games.

Signing Justin Jefferson to an extension still needs to be a priority for the Minnesota Vikings. He is going to make a ridiculous amount of money with his new deal, but the team can't afford to risk his future with the franchise.
