3. Sign Stephon Gilmore in free agency

This last season, Dallas Cowboys fans thought they were going to struggle a lot more than they did without starting cornerback Trevon Diggs. The standout corner tore his ACL before Week 3 this past season and that defense had to find a solution, in a hurry.

Fortunately, second-year pro DaRon Bland came out of absolutely no where to pick up the slack, and the 2022 fifth-round pick went on to earn All Pro honors. Alongside Bland was the veteran and former NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Stephon Gilmore.

Gilmore had a pretty strong year and ended up being a huge reason why the Cowboys defense continued to excel. He allowed a quarterback rating of 82.7 all of 2023, came up with two interceptions and 13 passes defensed.

The Cowboys are over the cap and probably won't be too interested in re-signing Gilmore due to that fact, and the fact that Bland will step right into his starting role in 2024, alongside Diggs.

The Vikings need help at cornerback and they might also go after one in the draft. But, Gilmore is a viable option that also knows Flores from their days together back in New England. It makes sense for the VIkings, and for Gilmore, who could step into a starting gig from Day 1 in Minnesota.
