Vikings optimistic about Justin Jefferson playing in Week 15
The big story heading into Sunday's game in Las Vegas was the return of Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson. Unfortunately, Jefferson wasn't even able to play the entire game against the Raiders after he was forced to leave the matchup midway through the second quarter after sustaining a chest injury.
Shortly after heading to the locker room, Jefferson was transferred to a local Las Vegas hospital for further testing and evaluation. The Minnesota receiver then returned to the team after the game and Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell stated that he felt "encouraged" about the severity of Jefferson's injury.
Well, on Monday, O'Connell provided another update about the team's star wide receiver, labeling him as "day-to-day" and saying there's a "good chance" that he can suit up for the team's upcoming matchup on Saturday against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to ESPN's Kevin Seifert.
This is great news for the Vikings and Jefferson, considering how serious his injury initially seemed after it required him to go to the hospital. But now it seems like that trip was just precautionary, and the talented receiver has a legitimate chance to suit up for Minnesota in their Week 15 game against the Bengals.
