Nick Mullens will be the Minnesota Vikings QB2 in Week 17

On Thursday, the Vikings announced that rookie Jaren Hall will be the team's starting quarterback for their upcoming Week 17 divisional matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

The news means that Nick Mullens is heading back to Minnesota's bench. However, the team also revealed on Thursday that Mullens will be the Vikings' No. 2 quarterback behind Hall on Sunday against the Packers.

After entering the Vikings' Week 14 game against the Las Vegas Raiders in the fourth quarter and helping lead Minnesota to a win, Mullens was given the chance to start under center for the Vikings in each of their last two matchups.

Minnesota has been able to move the ball up and down the field very well with the veteran signal-caller as their starter for the last two weeks.

However, with a total of six interceptions, Mullens turned out to be just as much of a turnover machine in his two starts as the guy he replaced back in Week 14 in Josh Dobbs.

So Mullens will go back to his original role as the Vikings No. 2 quarterback on Sunday and the team will see if the switch to Hall makes enough of a difference to get a win over the Packers.
