Adam Thielen named one of the top non-participants in NFL Scouting Combine history
This week, hundreds of prospects hoping to get selected in the 2024 NFL Draft in April will be participating in this year's NFL Scouting Combine.
Most of the Vikings' draft picks over the years have taken part in their respective Scouting Combines. But there have also been some notable current and former Minnesota players who didn't even get an invite to the Combine.
Former Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen, who now plays for the Carolina Panthers, was not invited to the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine after his college career at Minnesota State.
Instead, he had to pay to attend a regional combine in Chicago, Illinois, and then after that, he went on to take part in a super regional combine, which wound up earning him a tryout with the Vikings.
Recently, Thielen was listed as one of the all-time best players to not participate in an NFL Scouting Combine by CBS Sports' Garrett Podell.
The former Minnesota wide receiver was given the No. 6 spot on the list behind Julian Edelman, Wes Welker, James Harrison, Tyreek Hill, and Antonio Gates. Chris Harris, Malcolm Butler, and Victor Cruz were also selected for the list.
