It may be the offseason but that doesn't mean that there isn't plenty of news surrounding former and current Minnesota Vikings players.

Things are supposed to be quiet at this point in the offseason. Teams like the Minnesota Vikings should be scouting players for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft and working to manage their roster for the upcoming season.

Instead, there is quite a bit of Vikings-related or Vikings-adjacent news happening and fans are getting an interesting taste of non-game action long after the conclusion of the Super Bowl last season.

Let's take a look at some of the tidbits floating around that are related to the Minnesota Vikings.

Vikings News: Former Minnesota WR Blake Proehl impresses on American Idol

Fans of the Minnesota Vikings and the popular singing competition show American Idol were likely a bit surprised to see former wide receiver Blake Proehl among the individuals taking part in the audition process on the show's 22nd season.

The North Carolina native was an undrafted free agent for the Vikings in 2021 and impressed the Idol judges with a rendition of "In Case You Didn't Know" by Brett Young.

""You're not allowed to leave this show.""

American Idol judge Katy Perry

Proehl got his ticket to the next round of American Idol and shows potential as a vocalist to make it even further in the extremely popular singing competition program. The show can be seen Sundays on ABC.
