Danielle Hunter moves up the Vikings all-time sacks list

In his first season with Brian Flores as the team's defensive coordinator, Vikings pass rusher Danielle Hunter is off to arguably the best start of his career since entering the NFL back in 2015.

Hunter notched another sack during Minnesota's win over the 49ers on Monday, increasing his total for 2023 to nine, which is currently the most of any player in the league heading into Week 8.

His sack on Monday night was also the 80th of his NFL career. Hunter's 80th sack moved him past former Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen for seventh on the franchise's list for career sacks.

In addition to his sacks, Hunter's 12 tackles for a loss are also the most in the league heading into Week 8. His skills as a defender have certainly flourished in Flores' aggressive scheme this season.

A week ago, it seemed like there was a legitimate chance that Minnesota could send Hunter elsewhere before this year's trade deadline on October 31. But after the Vikings improved their record to 3-4 on Monday with the win over San Francisco, the veteran pass rusher will probably remain in purple and gold for the remainder of the 2023 campaign.
