Vikings News: Kirk Cousins, Wes Welker, Brian Flores, and Josh Dobbs

Brian Flores has the Vikings defense fooling everyone
This season, the Vikings' defense has experienced an impressive transformation in their first year with Brian Flores as the team's defensive coordinator.
The scheme that Flores runs is one of the most unique in the NFL. It features a ton of blitzing, a lot of pre-snap player movement, and zone coverage.
Minnesota's defense is so unpredictable under Flores, and no one in the league can seem to figure out what the unit is doing out on the field.
ESPN's Kevin Seifert recently shared a story from Vikings safety Josh Metellus about an Atlanta Falcons coach in Week 9 yelling at Metellus on the field before each Minnesota defensive play, saying he knew what was coming.
But according to Metellus, "He was completely wrong every time he said it. Nobody understands what we're doing." It just goes to show how complex the Vikings' current defensive scheme is under Flores.
Flores taking over the unit is a big part of the reason why Minnesota currently ranks 12th in the league in points allowed per drive after ranking 27th in the same category a year ago.
