Vikings targeting a cornerback before the trade deadline?
Less than a week ago, any trade speculation related to the Vikings had to do with them being sellers before this year's deadline.
But after their big win over the 49ers in Week 7, there has begun to be some chatter about Minnesota actually acquiring some new players before this season's trade deadline.
On Thursday's episode of "Minnesota Sports with Mackey & Judd", KSTP's Darren Wolfson speculated that if the Vikings were to make a trade before the deadline next week, a deal for a cornerback would make the most sense.
Some of the corners that could be available in a trade this season include Donte Jackson of the Carolina Panthers, Kristian Fulton of the Tennessee Titans, Kaiir Elam of the Buffalo Bills, and Adoreé Jackson of the New York Giants.
Minnesota parting with a 2024 first-round pick to acquire a cornerback before the deadline seems unlikely. But if the Vikings can acquire a starting-caliber corner in exchange for a future Day 3 draft pick, then that might be a deal they would be interested in making before next Tuesday.
