Fourth-Round Pick No. 1 (108th Overall)

Gabriel Murphy - EDGE (UCLA)

Gabriel Murphy was a very good player at North Texas before transferring to UCLA in 2022, where he developed a ton. He recorded just 1.5 sacks in his first season with the Bruins but bounced back in a major way in 2023.

Last season, Murphy recorded 8.0 sacks and 16.0 tackles for loss, and he is now heading to the NFL with his twin brother, Grayson, who followed a similar journey. The Vikings are going to add a pass rusher this offseason, and it may be later in the draft when they make their first addition on the edge.

Murphy is the exact type of player that you take a swing on at this stage of the draft. D.J. Wonnum cannot handle a starting workload by himself, but splitting his reps with a player like Murphy could benefit all parties.

Danielle Hunter may not return to the Vikings, but if he does, he is still going to need help. His success over the past few years has gone seemingly unnoticed because the defense has struggled as a whole despite his constant pressure in the backfield.

There were probably more impactful players on the board at this spot, but Murphy showed that he can be a developmental pass rusher with a ton of upside. If he continues to improve upon this past season, he will be a very good rotational pass rusher at the next level.
