Prospect to Watch: Bo Nix - QB (Oregon)

Bo Nix is another first-round hopeful after an incredible season at Oregon in 2022. If he can parlay that into a strong 2023 campaign, he should be one of the several quarterbacks to be selected in the first round of the draft next spring.

Texas Tech found themselves in one of the more exciting matchups of Week 1 when they lost in overtime on the road at Wyoming. Despite the loss, the defense was flying all over the field and consistently made contact with the opposing quarterback. If that trend continues, it will be interesting to see how Nix handles the pressure.

A lot of mock drafts at this point have hinted at Nix being a possible option for the Vikings, given the expectations of Minnesota landing outside of the top 10 and Nix being in that next tier of quarterbacks. Rather than giving up a bevy of future picks to go up and get a premier quarterback, the Vikings could sit back and ride with Bo Nix after all.

There will be other opportunities to watch Nix against far better opponents than Texas Tech this season, including games against 2024 quarterback prospects such as Shedeur Sanders, Caleb Williams, Michael Penix, Cam Rising, and DJ Uiagalelei. He has a chance to set himself apart from the pack and earn himself a first-round nod.

However, there is another quarterback with a much bigger matchup taking place at the same time on Saturday night. In fact, this next game features plenty of talent to watch.
