Vikings Draft 2024: Quinn Ewers and 3 other prospects that shined in CFB Week 5
By Luke Parrish
Prospect No. 3
Quinn Ewers - QB (Texas)
Texas got off to a sluggish start against a very strong Kansas team on Saturday and went to the half up by just six points. Quinn Ewers took the challenge and led one of the most impressive halves of football we have seen this season.
After Kansas scored in the third quarter to trim the deficit back to six, Texas went on a tear and scored 20 unanswered points to win 40-16. Ewers finished the afternoon with 325 yards and a touchdown through the air and an additional 40 yards and two touchdowns with his legs.
Running back Jonathon Brooks was also sensational as he racked up 218 yards on the ground with two touchdowns of his own as Texas looked unstoppable in the second half once again. Texas is on the doorstep of officially being back in the mix of the nation's best programs.
Quinn Ewers is starting to look like the star prospect that he was expected to become when he originally arrived at Ohio State. After figuring out his body and getting into shape, Ewers is looking more and more like an NFL quarterback this season.
With the Vikings likely heading toward a pick outside of the range of the top quarterbacks in the draft, Ewers might be more attainable. He is well worth a look as the future of the organization.
