On Wednesday, Netflix will release their highly-anticipated docu-series "Receiver" featuring Minnesota Vikings All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson. The series will be similar to Netflix's "Quarterback" from a year ago that followed around former Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins during the 2022 season.
Before Netflix releases every episode of "Receiver" on Wednesday, they decided to share a sneak peek of the show on Tuesday by posting a short clip online.
Former Minnesota Vikings WR Randy Moss featured in sneak peak of Netflix's "Receiver"
The clip starts with Hall of Fame signal-caller Peyton Manning explaining how a wide receiver is a quarterback's best friend. And then, before Manning can continue, he's interrupted by legendary former Minnesota pass-catcher Randy Moss.
Moss goes on to take over as the narrator of the clip since, you know, he's pretty familiar with what it takes to play the wide receiver position at the highest possible level.
The former Vikings first-round pick makes sure to emphasize how this new Netflix docu-series will help shine a light on all of the jobs a wide receiver has to do out on the field in addition to catching the football.
Just like last year's "Quarterback" docu-series, football fans are likely going to find out a few things about some of their favorite NFL pass-catchers that might have gone unnoticed last season.
When it comes to Jefferson's inclusion in the show, much of his content will probably revolve around a hamstring injury that kept him out of seven games last year. Minnesota's star receiver had previously never missed a matchup due to an injury in his NFL career, so it will be interesting to see how he dealt with being unable to play for a significant amount of time last season.
In addition to the content featuring Jefferson, we can also expect to see a number of notable events from the 2023 NFL season from a unique point of view, including Davante Adams and the Las Vegas Raiders going through a head coaching change in the middle of the team's schedule, Deebo Samuel and George Kittle helping the San Francisco 49ers reach the Super Bowl, and Amon-Ra St. Brown helping lead the Detroit Lions to an unexpected amount of success.
In less than 24 hours, Netflix viewers will be able to watch all of this in more when all eight episodes of "Receiver" are officially released to the public.
